Hangs on table for ease of cleaning
The VL118, originally designed by Vermund Larsen, was a hugely successful and popular dining chair of the 1960’s, credited for its great comfort. It has now been re-designed for today’s market.
As with the original chair, the VL118 is based on a steel frame. Choose from the three variants of silky matte chrome, shiny chrome or black powder coat.
The seat and back are true to the original design and are available in walnut, oak, smoked oak or black stained veneer. Alternatively, the VL118 can be upholstered using high quality Danish textiles or the exclusive semi aniline leather.
This chair can hang on the table for ease of cleaning the floor underneath. The base chair has a silicone edge under the armrests to avoid scratches when placed on the table.
Easily stacked – the seat mounts under the chair keeps a distance between the chairs when stacked so no scratching.
The VL118 has reversible duo gliders – felt for wooden floors and hard plastic for carpet. Rubber gliders are available for tiles.

Danish company, Vermund, has revived the manufacturer, Vermund Larsen’s original and ground-breaking furniture designs. Vermund Larsen established the company Vermund Larsen A/S (VELA) in 1935. After his death in 1970, the direction of the business changed to that of designing and manufacturing specialist chairs for the health sector, which continues to be successful. Now the company, under the name of Vermund, has brought to life the chair designs of Mr Larsen from the mid 1950’s and ‘60’s, tweaked by its designers for today.
Vermund Larsen started manufacturing steel products in 1935 and, with renowned architect Ib Kofod-Larsen, constructed the first chair in Europe made from steel rods and fibreglass. The chair received a lot of attention and publicity due to its effective way of distributing weight in the back and its slightly bowed seat which, when combined, provided tremendous support to the lower back area and wrapped itself around the body.
